Hello guys, welcome back to my blog. It has been over three months since the last time I wrote a blog. I sincerely apologize for that. Blogging and business is still my passion. The past three months were the busiest time in my life because of COVID and MBA classes. I am taking a short break because today is the last day of this semester. I decided to take three classes this semester because I want to finish my program by the end of summer 2021. I started my MBA journey in January of this year, 2020. It is officially halfway through my program, and I am glad to go back to blogging. 2020 has been the most challenging year, not just for me but also for many people.
What is going on at my hospital for the past three months?
If this is the first time you follow my blog, you might not know that I am the pharmacy director at a 120-beds hospital in Southern California. COVID is getting worse at my hospital as our bed-capacity is reaching its limit. Since Covid started, we have had an average of 10 COVID patients per day. Flu season starting in October and the resistance of wearing a mask have made the number of COVID patient increases to an average of 25 patients a day. We are currently treating 30 patients, and all of us are feeling the stress it creates. Due to Covid, a large number of surgery cases were affected. We had to close the surgery department due to COVID, and it affects the hospital’s finance. Work-flow and staffing schedule were all affected negatively. We made some tough choices that lead to furlough and even termination in some cases. My department isn’t an exception. With a decrease in staffing, I had to absorb all the clinical work.
On the brighter side, the Pzifer vaccine just got approved yesterday with a 95% effective rate. Along with all the hospitals in our country, we are preparing to receive and administer the vaccine.

How is my school schedule affected by COVID?
This past semester was incredibly challenging. My day starts at 6 am. I wake up, get ready, and arrive at work at around 7:45 am. Monday through Friday, I don’t leave work until 7 pm or sometimes even 8 pm. I reserve the last two hours at work for some school work, and sometimes I have to spend an extra 4 to 5 hours on the weekend to finish projects and group discussions.
Overall, it was stressful. I have a break now until the middle of January. I decide to take three classes next semester, and I am not looking forward to it. Until my next semester starts, I will try to put out as much content for you guys as possible. I plan to talk more bout real-estate as I am looking for an investment property.
I hope you guys are staying safe. Make sure to subscribe to my blog. I am glad to answer any question about blogging, personal finance, education.
Wow! I can totally relate to you. I recently completed my Master’s degree, as well. It is difficult during these times but keep going you’re almost there. Make sure you take care of yourself as well!
Thanks Williams for checking out my blog. It has been a challenging year for all of us.
Congratulation on your recent accomplishment. Currently, COVID cases have gone down in LA and Orange County. But we are not in the clear yet. If you don’t mind sharing, what is your next goal after your MBA?
